3 Simple Ingredients

How annoying is it when you find a great recipe that is “toddler friendly” only to find out it has about 10 different ingredients? Well, these 3 ingredient cookies are just about the most simple recipe you’ll find.

Here are the three magic ingredients:

  • 1 large banana
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3 1/2 tbsp smooth peanut butter

That’s it! I told it was easy. Easy enough for a toddler and yummy enough for both toddler and mommy to have a delicious treat.

Let’s Make Cookies!

If you thought the ingredient list was simple, watch out. The actual cookie making process is even easier.

  1. Smash up the large banana in a medium sized bowl. Let your toddler just annihilate that banana into mashed goodness!
  2. Add 3.5 tbsp smooth peanut butter to the mashed banana and mix until smooth. If you or your toddler are allergic to peanuts, simply sub sunflower butter or any other nut butter that suits.
  3. Add 3/4 cup flour to the banana/peanut butter goodness and mix until smooth. Use your hands to make sure it really gets mixed well.
  4. Roll out the dough onto a floured surface. PRO TIP: If you don’t want to use flour, put the ball of dough onto a piece of parchment paper. Place another piece on top of the dough and roll the dough out that way. This is a great way to avoid stickiness.
  5. Use cookie cutters to create whatever shapes you desire. We used the little stamps that come with THIS montessori cooking set, and they worked perfectly. We used a bunny, heart, star, and flower. The dough often got stuck in the stamper, so I used a chopstick to poke it out. Each stamper has a little hole on the handle so that worked great!
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Have the most darling cookies and milk party with your toddler. Be sure to invite all of the stuffed animals. We wouldn’t want them to feel left out.
