Beyond The Coloring
There are many ways you can expand this coloring activity to create more magic.
1. Create Your Own Carnival
After your toddler (and you) finish coloring the carnival animals, create your own carnival.
Take an empty large box. Paint or color the box. Once you’ve made the box beautiful, glue the carnival animals to the box and ask questions or talk about each picture.
- What is the turtle doing?
- What does the koala like to eat at the carnival?
- What did the elephant win at the carnival?
Be creative. Look at the pictures and create stories about each picture. Why did the monkey go to the carnival? What will giraffe do with his balloon?
Let your toddler ask you questions about the pictures, too.
2. Create A Carnival Wall Mural
I love hanging my son’s creations on the wall. If you go to his room, you will find an entire wall of his artwork. He loves seeing his artwork on display. Often, he points to the wall and says, “I do.” He’s so proud!
You can either laminate the artwork in order to preserve it a bit more, or simply tape it straight to the wall.
I HIGHLY encourage you to use Scotch tape, and ONLY Scotch tape. That is the only tape I can ensure will not leave any residue. It peels off completely clean, leaving zero marks. Believe me, here. I’ve tried other tapes, and it was a bad idea.
