Coloring And Musical Education: A Combo You Can’t Beat

This set of animals and instruments coloring sheets is not only meant to provide images for your child to color. It’s also a great way to introduce new instruments. Most children know the piano and guitar, but this set contains some less commonly celebrated instruments like the flute and harmonica.

Introduce a lesser known instrument, and find some music that features the instrument. For the elephant conducting the orchestra , find a video on YouTube of an actual orchestra. My son likes to pretend to be the conductor, so it’s a fun way to release some energy as well.

Incorporate Imaginative Play

The animals and instruments coloring sheets are simply a jumping point in the creative process.

After your child colors some of the images, choose a few and ignite the powers of pretend play. Gather stuffed animals and assign a pretend instrument to each animal. Choose some songs in audio or video form that feature the animal’s instrument. Dance your heart out as you play the music and pretend the animal is playing the song.

Really let your creative juices roll in these activities! The only rule is that you have fun!
