How to navigate this post:

Packet #1

Who Is This Packet Best For?

This packet can be used for ages 2-5, but the number of dots is increased therefore increasing the level of difficulty.

I give this to my 2-year-old along with some colored dot stickers and let him go to town. Does he put all the dot stickers in the circles?

Nope. And that’s totally ok.

It’s ok to give your little one something that is more advanced and let them have a go at it. They are still working on those gross and fine motor skills by picking the stickers off and placing them on the paper, wherever the stickers may land.

Let them go wild! Heck, let them put stickers ON the sea animals!

Now, if you have an older toddler, you can create different games with these sheets.

  • Create a color pattern with your toddler and have them follow the pattern.
  • Create color dice, roll one of them, and have your toddler stick the corresponding color on the paper.
  • Put numbers in each circle and assign a color to each circle.

Options are endless. Get creative. Be wild. There are no set rules here.

Packet #2

Who Is This Packet Best For?

Packet #2 has more spacing between the dots therefore decreasing the level of difficulty. This packet can be used for ages 2-5.

Much like packet #1, you can increase the difficulty here by implementing the suggested variations from packet #1.

  • Create a color pattern with your toddler and follow the pattern.
  • Create color dice, roll one of them, and instruct your toddler to stick the corresponding color on the paper.
  • Put numbers in each circle and assign a color to each circle.

It is definitely ok if your little one goes rouge, and puts stickers everyone on the paper. This is not about perfection, it’s about giving your toddler fun and engaging activities to improve their motor skills, spacial awareness and color recognition.

Who Is This Packet Best For?

Things got a lot more colorful here!

Packet #3 can be used for ages 2-5, but the color coded dots make it a lot easier. Older toddlers will still enjoy this, but they might enjoy the freedom of the other packets a bit more. Give them a try!

My son adores this color packet. He is immediately engaged by the vibrancy and adores matching the colors! This packet is a big, big win in our home.

The Whole Shebang!

This packet is for the mom who’s not messing around. GIVE ME THE ENTIRE PACKET!

Ok. I hear you. It’s all yours!

I actually recommend you download all the pages, no matter how old your toddler is at the moment. Any aged toddler can use them. It’s not about perfection here, it’s about fun and engagement.

Your toddler may love the artistic freedom of the color free dot sheets. Or your 4-year-old might really love matching the colors. Try them all, and see how you go. Your toddler might just surprise you.

And I won’t judge if you find yourself sitting down with a glass of wine at night, creating a color pattern yourself. I would be lying if I said I haven’t done that. 😘

Where Do I Get Dot Stickers?

You can get dot stickers at most stationary stores, craft stores, or on Amazon.

I used THESE DOT STICKERS. The color of these particular dot stickers will match the print outs, but you can use any dot stickers you like.

There are about a gazillion different dot sticker choices on Amazon. I chose the dot stickers on individual rolls. There are sheets of dot stickers but I do not recommend buying the sheets.

  • Dot stickers on rolls are easier for small fingers to manage and un-peel
  • Dot sticker rolls make it easier to control how many dots you give your toddler
  • Dot sticker rolls are easier to store in a small ziplock bag

Notes From Teacher

As a former teacher, I understand that many parents get caught up in following the rules and making sure their child is “doing it right”.

Let’s get one thing straight. As adults, we have an idea in our brain about how things should look, but children are NOT that way. And we don’t want them to be! Children have a level of creative genius that only 2% of adults can match. Find out more about a crazy study NASA did on children and creative genius HERE.

Don’t put your toddler in a box. If they want to put stickers all over the page and make their own piece of artwork, let them do it. Expression through play and exploration is vital for our little ones.

I encourage you to give your toddler sheets from all packets and see what they do. Keep a few your toddler has completed, and at a later date, give them new sheets and see what they do. I keep work from my son, put the date on his work and go back through the dates and see how his work has changed.

Our little ones are always progressing, so having a visual timeline of your toddler’s changes is a great way to see for yourself just how much your toddler has evolved and observe the new ways they are exploring these activities.

Most of all, HAVE FUN! Break the rules. Make new ones. Break those rules. Repeat. Life is too short to stay in the dots!
